Two separate pools

Patch 0.9.10 introduced an unlock-based bonus: each group of six unlocked modules adds a New Module Reroll, while each group of six unlocked artifacts adds an Artifact Reroll. Count the two categories separately. Twelve module unlocks do not grant two artifact rerolls.

The calculator reports only this unlock bonus. It does not guess a starting module allowance, the amount left after using a reroll, or other effects in your current run.

Patch 0.9.14 separately added a second artifact reroll from the start. Keep that starting allowance distinct from the unlock bonus when comparing an old guide with the current game.

Check the count in your game

  1. Count the permanently unlocked entries in the module or artifact collection you are checking. Do not use the number of upgrades taken during a single run.
  2. Enter that count in the matching field above. Partial groups of six do not add another bonus.
  3. Compare the result with the relevant reroll allowance in the game, accounting for any rerolls already spent. If it differs, record your version and the screen you are looking at before concluding that the rule is broken.

This is a calculation from published rules, rather than a direct reading of your save file. It cannot check which items your game considers unlocked.

Example

With 12 unlocked modules and 6 unlocked artifacts, the rule gives +2 module rerolls and +1 artifact reroll. The two outputs remain separate. Increasing artifacts from 6 to 11 keeps the artifact bonus at +1; reaching 12 raises it to +2.

If your starting artifact allowance is two, adding the +1 unlock bonus gives three before spending any. That total is an arithmetic example, not a guarantee about every screen or modifier.

Unlock bonus table

Unlocked items in one category Extra rerolls for that category
0–5 +0
6–11 +1
12–17 +2
18–23 +3
24–29 +4

For larger counts, divide by six and round down. The next milestone is the next multiple of six. If you have 17 unlocks, one more reaches the +3 tier; if you have 18, the next tier starts at 24.

Use the extra choices to pursue a particular job in your build, rather than treating more rerolls as a reason to replace a setup that already works.
